Postman Pricing 2026: Free Is One User Now, Solo and Team

Postman pricing in 2026: Free is one user, Solo is $9 a month and Team $19 per user billed annually ($12 and $23 monthly), plus SSO, AI credit and monitor costs.

Postman Pricing 2026: Free Is One User Now, Solo and Team

Postman costs $0 on Free, $9 a month on Solo and $19 per user a month on Team when billed annually ($12 and $23 on monthly billing), and Enterprise is quote-only, per Postman's pricing page on October 19, 2026. Free and Solo cover one user each, so any team that shares collections starts at Team.

That single-user rule is the change that matters. Postman replaced its old plan lineup on March 1, 2026 with Free, Solo, Team and Enterprise, as its March 2026 announcement explains, and the pricing FAQ now calls Free and Solo "single-player plans". A two-person side project now needs paid Team seats. This page prices that bill for teams of 2, 5 and 15, then adds the meters on top: SSO, AI credits, monitors and Flows. The product verdict, features and weaknesses, is in our Postman review.

Toolradar data: Postman is listed as an alternative to 43 other tools on its Toolradar profile, the #7 (joint) most-listed alternative among 483 API tools, as of October 2026. That crowding is why the price of Postman's seat gets compared so often with Insomnia and Bruno, covered below.

Plan Billed annually Billed monthly Users AI credits a month Monitor requests a month
Free $0 $0 1 100 on the plan card, 50 in the comparison table 1,000
Solo $9/mo $12/mo 1 400 10,000
Team $19/user/mo $23/user/mo Unlimited 400 per user 10,000 per team
Enterprise Contact sales Contact sales Unlimited 800 per user, pooled 10,000 per team

Prices and limits from Postman's pricing page, read October 19, 2026. Postman advertises the annual option as saving up to 25%.

What changed in Postman's plans in 2026?

Postman cut its plan list to four on March 1, 2026, and folded several former add-ons into the tiers. The announcement says the old structure was hard to navigate because of a growing list of add-ons, and that new customers could pick from Free, Solo, Team and Enterprise from that date. New features shipped alongside, including the API Catalog and Insights on Enterprise.

The older Basic and Professional plans are no longer sold to new customers. Postman's FAQ says existing Basic customers will move to Team over time, while Professional customers stay on their current plan and pricing and do not have to change. If you are on a legacy plan, your renewal notice, not this table, tells you what you pay next.

For new buyers, the practical effect is simple: the free tier is now a personal tool. Free still includes the API client, specs, mock servers, Native Git, the Collection Runner and manual Flows, so a solo developer loses little, but a second editor means a paid Team seat.

How much does Postman cost for a team?

Team is priced per user, and every editor needs a seat; workspace and collection viewers are unlimited and free on Team. Here is what common team sizes pay per month, our arithmetic on Postman's printed per-user prices:

Team size Team, billed annually Team, billed monthly Simple Security SSO add-on
2 editors $38 a month $46 a month +$12 a month
5 editors $95 a month $115 a month +$30 a month
15 editors $285 a month $345 a month +$90 a month

Annual billing takes 25% off Solo's monthly price and about 17% off Team's. Annual billing is the better deal once a team is sure it will keep Postman for a year, but monthly billing is the cheaper way to test whether the collaboration features earn their keep.

Viewers change the math more than the billing term does. Product managers, QA reviewers and partners who only read collections and documentation can sit on a Team workspace as viewers without a seat, so count only the people who edit requests, tests and specs.

What does Postman SSO cost?

Single sign-on is a paid add-on on Team, called Simple Security, at $6 per user a month. Postman says it must be enabled for every licensed user, so a 15-editor team cannot buy it for five people. It covers SSO through Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, OneLogin, Ping, Duo, AD FS or custom SAML, with just-in-time provisioning.

Two limits matter for security reviews. Simple Security is not available on Free or Solo, and it does not include SCIM provisioning, while audit logs and advanced RBAC are listed as Enterprise features. A company whose IT policy requires SCIM or audit logs should expect an Enterprise conversation, and Postman does not publish that price.

How do Postman AI credits and overages work?

Every plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits, and paid plans can keep going on pay-as-you-go. Credits power Agent Mode, test and documentation generation, response analysis and workflow steps. Solo includes 400 a month, Team 400 per user, and Enterprise 800 per user pooled across the organization.

Free is the odd one: Postman's plan card lists 100 AI credits, while the comparison table on the same page lists 50 a month. Plan around the lower number until your account dashboard shows otherwise. Free also has no overage option, so AI features stop when the allowance runs out.

Overage rates on the comparison table are $0.05 per credit on Solo, $0.04 on Team and $0.035 on Enterprise, with volume pricing through sales. A Solo developer who uses 1,400 credits in a month pays about $50 on top of the plan for the 1,000 extra; the same overage on a Team seat costs about $40. Postman says pay-as-you-go runs only when a billing admin enables it, which is the switch to check before a team adopts Agent Mode widely.

What do monitors, Flows and performance tests cost?

Usage-based services are sold on paid plans only, and each has its own meter:

  • API monitoring: Free includes 1,000 monitor requests a month and paid plans 10,000 per team. Extra capacity is $20 per 50,000 requests per team a month. One request checked every minute uses about 43,200 requests in a 30-day month, so a single always-on check needs one block on top of a paid plan.
  • Flows credits: Free includes 25 a month, Solo 50, Team 100 per team and Enterprise 500 per team, with extra usage at $1 per 1,000 credits.
  • Cloud performance testing: $0.04 per virtual user hour on paid plans, so 100 virtual users for one hour cost $4. Local performance testing stays unlimited on every plan.
  • Context Graph API queries: 1,000 a month on Free and 5,000 on paid plans, then $0.01 per query.

For most small teams the seat price dominates and these meters stay at zero. The exception is monitoring. A team that schedules production health checks every minute or across several regions will outgrow the included requests long before it outgrows its seats. For basic uptime checks, our free uptime monitoring guide covers cheaper options.

Is Postman free?

Yes, for one person. The Free plan costs $0 with no time limit and includes the API client, unlimited specs and mock servers, Native Git, unlimited Collection Runner runs and local performance tests, plus a small AI allowance. It also caps integrations at 5, calls to the Postman API at 10,000 a month and collection recovery at 1 day.

What Free cannot do is collaborate. It has one user and no shared team workspace, so a contractor and a client, or two engineers on a side project, cannot both edit the same collection on Free. That is the main reason teams under a tight budget now look at Insomnia or Bruno.

Is Postman cheaper than Insomnia or Bruno?

Not per seat. On their own pricing pages, read the same day, both rivals charge less for collaboration:

Tool and plan Price per user a month Free tier for teams
Postman Team $19 billed annually, $23 monthly No, Free is one user
Insomnia Pro $10 billed annually, $12 monthly Essentials covers Git Sync projects for up to 3 users
Insomnia Enterprise $45 on monthly billing, self-serve up to 50 users No
Bruno Pro $6 billed annually Open-source app is free, collections live in Git
Bruno Ultimate $11 billed annually Same open-source app

Prices from Insomnia's pricing page and Bruno's pricing page, October 19, 2026.

A team of five on Bruno Pro pays $30 a month billed annually, against $95 on Postman Team. Insomnia's free Essentials plan covers three users on Git Sync, which is the free small-team setup Postman no longer offers. Postman's case is breadth: monitors, Flows, mock servers, documentation hosting, SDK generation and an AI agent in one product. If your team uses only the request client and tests, you are paying for features you do not touch. Our Postman alternatives guide compares the rivals on features, and best API testing tools ranks the wider field. Toolradar keeps profiles of Insomnia and Bruno as well.

Which Postman plan should you buy?

Stay on Free if you work alone and your AI and monitoring use is light. It is a complete API client for one person.

Buy Solo if you work alone but want data-file test runs with exports, custom-branded documentation, custom domains and the larger monitor and AI allowances. Annual billing saves $3 a month over monthly.

Buy Team as soon as a second person edits collections, and add Simple Security only if your company mandates SSO. Ask for Enterprise if you need SCIM, audit logs, the API Catalog or private runners.

Before you commit, estimate the meters: AI credits for teams adopting Agent Mode, monitor requests for production checks. How we checked these prices

Louis Corneloup, founder of Dupple and Toolradar, prepared this guide for developers budgeting for Postman. Plan prices on both billing terms, user limits, AI credit allowances and overage rates, the Simple Security add-on, usage-based services and the legacy plan FAQ come from Postman's pricing page, read on October 19, 2026; the plan change date comes from Postman's March 2026 announcement. Insomnia and Bruno prices come from their own pricing pages the same day. Team totals, overage examples and monitor estimates are our arithmetic on those published prices. The alternatives count is from Toolradar's live tool record that month.

FAQ

How much does Postman cost in 2026?

Postman Free costs $0 for one user. Solo is $9 a month billed annually or $12 billed monthly, and Team is $19 per user a month billed annually or $23 billed monthly. Enterprise pricing is by quote. Prices were read on Postman's pricing page on October 19, 2026.

Is Postman still free for teams?

No. Since the March 1, 2026 plan change, Free and Solo are single-user plans, and collaboration on shared workspaces requires Team or Enterprise. Team does include unlimited viewers at no extra cost, so only people who edit need a paid seat.

What happened to Postman Basic and Professional?

Postman no longer sells Basic or Professional to new customers. Its FAQ says existing Basic customers will move to the Team plan over time, while Professional customers keep their current plan and pricing and are not required to change.

How much is Postman SSO?

SSO comes through the Simple Security add-on on Team at $6 per user a month, and it must cover every licensed user. It is not available on Free or Solo, and it does not include SCIM provisioning.

How much do extra Postman AI credits cost?

Overage is $0.05 per credit on Solo, $0.04 on Team and $0.035 on Enterprise, and it runs only when a billing admin turns on pay-as-you-go. Solo includes 400 credits a month and Team 400 per user. Free has a small allowance and no overage option.

Is Postman worth paying for over Bruno or Insomnia?

It is when your team uses Postman's monitors, Flows, mock servers, documentation and AI agent. For request building and tests alone, Bruno Pro at $6 per user billed annually and Insomnia Pro at $10 cost far less than Postman Team, and Insomnia's free plan covers three users on Git Sync.
