Sentry Pricing 2026: Team vs Business and Overages
Sentry pricing in 2026: Developer is free for one user, Team and Business cost $26 and $80 a month yearly with 50K errors, with bills costed at 100K to 1M errors.

Sentry costs $0 for one user on Developer, $26/mo on Team and $80/mo on Business when billed yearly ($29 and $89 month to month), and every paid plan includes 50K errors, 5M spans, 50 replays and 1 GB of attachments. The plan fee is the small part. A Team account at 500K errors a month pays about $110.50 with reserved volume or $131.65 on pay-as-you-go, and Business at the same volume about $324.50.
All figures were read on Sentry's pricing page and its pricing documentation on October 17, 2026, in USD. This page is the invoice: what each plan includes, what each unit costs above the quota, why reserved volume beats pay-as-you-go, and what the same error volume costs at four rivals. The product verdict lives in our Sentry review.
Toolradar data: the debugging ranking on Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 93 debugging tools as of October 2026, and 89% of them are free, freemium or open source. Sentry's free Developer plan is therefore the norm in this category, not a differentiator; the paid tiers compete on quota and unit price. The directory record is Sentry on Toolradar.
| Plan | Price (yearly / monthly) | Included every month | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Developer | Free | 5K errors, 5M spans, 50 replays, 1 user, 30-day lookback | Solo developers and side projects |
| Team | $26/mo / $29/mo | 50K errors, 5M spans, 50 replays, 1 GB attachments, unlimited users, 90-day lookback | Small teams that need everyone in the dashboard |
| Business | $80/mo / $89/mo | Same quotas plus unlimited dashboards, 1,000 metric monitors, anomaly detection, advanced quota management | Teams that need SSO, quota controls and alerting depth |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom volume, retention and support | Contracts with procurement and security review |
Developer is free, but it is one seat
Developer costs nothing forever and is not a trial. It carries 5K errors, 5M spans and 50 session replays a month, email alerts, ten custom dashboards and access to Sentry's MCP server, with a 30-day lookback on data. For a solo developer that is a complete error tracker with tracing attached.
The leash is the seat count, not the quota. Developer allows one user, so the moment a second engineer needs to triage an issue you are on Team. That makes the free plan a personal tool rather than a free tier for a small company, which is the opposite of how Honeybadger and GlitchTip shape their free plans (one user on Honeybadger too, unlimited members on GlitchTip). Sentry's own pricing page says to add a card when you need more users or more volume, and most teams hit the user limit first.
Team and Business: the fee is for seats and features, the errors are extra
Team and Business share the same included volume: 50K errors, 5M spans, 50 replays, 1 GB of attachments, one cron monitor and one uptime monitor. Business pays about three times as much for unlimited custom dashboards, 1,000 metric monitors, anomaly detection and advanced quota management, which means the extra $54 a month on yearly billing buys controls and alerting, not capacity.
Yearly billing saves about 10% on both plans against the month-to-month price. The paid plans also move the lookback from 30 to 90 days, which matters when a release that shipped six weeks ago starts throwing errors.
Two add-ons sit beside the plans. Seer, Sentry's AI debugging agent for root cause analysis and fix generation, costs $40 per active contributor a month on Team and Business. Extra cron monitors are $0.78 each and extra uptime monitors $1.00 each, pay-as-you-go. Logs and application metrics come with 5 GB included and bill at $0.50/GB beyond that, and profiling is pay-as-you-go only, at $0.0315 an hour for continuous profiling and $0.25 an hour for UI profiling.
Overages: reserved volume vs pay-as-you-go
This is where Sentry bills diverge. Above the included 50K errors you can either reserve a higher monthly volume in advance at a lower unit price, or let usage spill into a pay-as-you-go budget at a unit price about 25% higher. Both are billed per unit in volume bands, and the bands differ between Team and Business.
| Errors per month (above 50K) | Team reserved | Team pay-as-you-go | Business reserved | Business pay-as-you-go |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50K to 100K | $0.00029 | $0.0003625 | $0.00089 | $0.0011125 |
| 100K to 500K | $0.000175 | $0.0002188 | $0.0005 | $0.000625 |
| 500K to 10M | $0.00015 | $0.0001875 | $0.0003 | $0.000375 |
| 10M to 20M | not listed | not listed | $0.00026 | $0.000325 |
Other units follow the same pattern. Spans are $0.0000016 reserved and $0.000002 pay-as-you-go on Team from 5M to 100M, and double that on Business. Replays start at $0.003 reserved or $0.00375 pay-as-you-go from 50 to 5K on both plans, falling to $0.001962 above 4.5M. Attachments above the first gigabyte are $0.25/GB reserved or $0.3125/GB pay-as-you-go.
What happens when the budget runs out is the part to decide before launch. Sentry's docs state that data sent after you have used your reserved volume and your pay-as-you-go budget is dropped and not charged. A traffic spike therefore loses events rather than producing a surprise invoice, which protects the card but can blind you during the incident you most want to see.
What a month actually costs at 100K, 500K and 1M errors
The bills below apply each band to the errors inside it, which is the higher reading of Sentry's table (if a whole month bills at one band rate, Team comes out lower). Prices are yearly billing, errors only; spans, replays and Seer come on top.
| Monthly errors | Team, reserved | Team, pay-as-you-go | Business, reserved | Business, pay-as-you-go |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50K (included) | plan fee only | plan fee only | plan fee only | plan fee only |
| 100K | $40.50 | $44.13 | $124.50 | $135.63 |
| 500K | $110.50 | $131.65 | $324.50 | $385.63 |
| 1M | $185.50 | $225.40 | $474.50 | $573.13 |
The arithmetic for Team at 500K: the plan fee, plus 50K errors at $0.00029 ($14.50), plus 400K errors at $0.000175 ($70), for $110.50. On pay-as-you-go the same bands cost $18.13 and $87.52, so reserving ahead saves $21.15 a month at that volume and $39.90 at 1M. Business at 1M errors on reserved volume adds $44.50, $200 and $150 to its plan fee.
Two conclusions follow. First, the plan fee is a rounding error past 500K errors: at 1M errors, 86% of a Team bill is overage. Second, Business is not a bigger Team, it is a pricier Team: its per-error rates are roughly three times higher in every band, so a team that only needs the quota should stay on Team and buy reserved volume. Business earns its price when SAML, advanced quota management or 1,000 metric monitors are the requirement.
Add the other meters for a realistic production app: 50M spans a month on Team reserved is 45M above the quota at $0.0000016, or $72; 5K replays is 4,950 above the quota at $0.003, or $14.85. A Team account at 500K errors, 50M spans and 5K replays therefore lands near $197 a month before Seer, and Seer for five active contributors adds $200 on its own.
Sentry vs Honeybadger, GlitchTip, Raygun and Rollbar at the same volume
Competitor prices were read on Honeybadger plans, GlitchTip pricing, Raygun pricing and Rollbar pricing on October 17, 2026. The ranking changes with volume, so the table prices three points.
| Tool | Entry paid plan | Cost at 100K errors | Cost at 500K errors | Cost at 1M errors |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sentry Team | Team fee yearly, 50K errors | $40.50 reserved | $110.50 reserved | $185.50 reserved |
| Honeybadger Team | $286/yr, 50K errors | Optional overage billing above 50K | Optional overage billing above 50K | Business plan or custom |
| GlitchTip | $15/mo Small, 100K events | $15 (Small) | $50 (Medium) | $250 (Large, up to 3M) |
| Raygun Crash Reporting | $40/mo yearly Basic, 100K errors | $40 (Basic) | Team reserve plus 300K on demand at $0.001 ($380), or Business | $400 (Business) |
| Rollbar | Free 5K occurrences; Essentials on a usage slider | Slider, no list price | Slider, no list price | Slider, no list price |
GlitchTip is the price floor: an open-source, Sentry-SDK-compatible service at $15 for 100K events and $50 for 500K, with unlimited team members on every plan including free (1,000 events). It lacks Sentry's tracing depth, replay and Seer, which is the trade. Honeybadger matches Sentry's Team fee exactly for the same 50K errors and adds uptime monitors and a status page, with 90-day error retention against Sentry's 90-day lookback. Raygun reserves bigger blocks (100K on Basic, 1M on Business) and charges $0.001 per on-demand error, which is more than three times Sentry Team's entry band, so stay inside the reserve. Rollbar publishes a free plan of 5K occurrences but prices Essentials and Advanced on a slider with credits, so the page shows no list price to compare.

How to keep a Sentry bill flat
Reserve what you actually send. Sentry shows your last months of usage; reserving the 90th percentile of error volume costs 20% less per unit than letting it spill into pay-as-you-go, and the table above puts that at $21 a month at 500K errors.
Sample and filter before the event leaves the app. Errors that never reach Sentry cost nothing. Inbound filters for known browser extensions, legacy browsers and health-check noise, plus a client-side sample rate on spans, are the two settings that cut the two biggest meters. Spans in particular arrive in millions; 5M included sounds generous until a chatty service logs every database call.
Set the pay-as-you-go budget deliberately. Zero means a spike drops data; a number means the spike is billed up to that number. Pick the one you want on the day of the incident, not after.
Count contributors before adding Seer. At $40 per active contributor a month, Seer for a ten-person team is $400, more than a Business plan at 500K errors. Enable it for the engineers who triage, not for everyone with dashboard access.
Methodology
Every price on this page was read on Sentry's pricing page and pricing documentation, and on the four competitors' own pricing pages, on October 17, 2026. The cost tables are computed from Sentry's published bands, applying each band to the errors inside it and using yearly billing for the plan fee; Sentry's calculator should confirm a quote before you budget. The 93-tool count is Toolradar's debugging ranking that month. This page reports published prices only, and it carries no sponsored placement. How this site publishes is on the Devshot about page.
FAQ
How much does Sentry cost in 2026?
Developer is free for one user with 5K errors a month. Team is $26/mo billed yearly or $29 month to month, and Business is $80/mo yearly or $89 month to month; both include 50K errors, 5M spans, 50 replays and 1 GB of attachments. Above the quota, errors cost from $0.00029 each on Team reserved volume, and a Team account at 500K errors pays about $110.50 a month.
Is Sentry free?
Yes, for one person. The Developer plan is free forever, with 5K errors, 5M spans, 50 replays, email alerts and a 30-day lookback. It is a single-user plan, so a second teammate who needs the dashboard moves you to the Team plan. Self-hosted Sentry is also free to run, at the cost of operating it yourself.
What is the difference between Sentry Team and Business?
Capacity is identical: both include 50K errors, 5M spans and 50 replays. Business adds unlimited custom dashboards, 1,000 metric monitors, anomaly detection, advanced quota management and the SSO features, and it bills overage at roughly three times Team's per-error rate in every band. Choose Business for governance and alerting, not for volume.
What is reserved volume vs pay-as-you-go on Sentry?
Reserved volume is error, span or replay capacity you commit to each month at a discounted unit price. Pay-as-you-go is a budget that absorbs usage above your reserve at a unit price about 25% higher (Team errors from 50K to 100K are $0.00029 reserved versus $0.0003625 pay-as-you-go). Once reserve and budget are both used, Sentry drops further data and does not charge for it.
How much does Sentry Seer cost?
Seer, the AI debugging agent that does root cause analysis and proposes fixes, costs $40 per active contributor a month on the Team and Business plans; it is not included in the plan fee and is not available on Developer. Ten active contributors add $400 a month, so enable it for the engineers who triage rather than for every account.
Is Sentry cheaper than GlitchTip or Honeybadger?
Not at the low end. GlitchTip charges $15 a month for 100K events and $50 for 500K with unlimited users, where Sentry Team reserved volume costs about $40.50 and $110.50 for the same error counts. Honeybadger's Team plan matches Sentry's Team fee for 50K errors and adds uptime monitors and a status page. Sentry wins on tracing, session replay and the integration count, not on price per error.
