Auth0 Pricing 2026: Free 25k MAU, Essentials, Professional

Auth0 pricing in 2026: Free to 25,000 MAU, B2C Essentials from $35/mo and Professional from $240, B2B from $150 and $800, with the full MAU price ladder.

Auth0 Pricing 2026: Free 25k MAU, Essentials, Professional

Auth0 is free for up to 25,000 monthly active users on its Free plan. Paid plans are priced by user count: for consumer (B2C) apps, Essentials starts at $35 a month and Professional at $240 for up to 500 users; for B2B apps, Essentials starts at $150 and Professional at $800. Enterprise is a sales quote. Prices are in US dollars, read on Auth0's pricing page on October 19, 2026.

The headline number is generous and the paid ladder is not. The Free plan covers 25,000 users, but the paid plans restart the count at 500, so a team that upgrades for a feature such as MFA pays by its full user count from the first day. The rest of this page shows what that costs at each step and where cheaper tools land.

Auth0 plans at a glance

Plan Who it fits Monthly billing Users at that price
Free Side projects and early apps that can live without MFA factors $0 Up to 25,000
B2C Essentials Consumer apps that need MFA, roles and log streaming From $35/mo Up to 500
B2C Professional Consumer apps that log in against an existing user database From $240/mo Up to 500
B2B Essentials SaaS apps that sell to companies and need organizations and SSO From $150/mo Up to 500
B2B Professional SaaS apps with stricter security reviews From $800/mo Up to 500
Enterprise Large deployments that need a 99.99% SLA or private cloud Contact sales Custom

On yearly billing, every paid plan is labelled "1 month free" and costs 11 times the monthly rate: B2C Essentials at 500 users is $385 a year, so prepaying saves one month's fee on any plan you keep for a year. Auth0's pricing calculator has eight user steps, from 500 to "30,000+", and its FAQ says paid plans can go from 1,000 to 100,000 users or more.

What the Free plan includes

Free is a working identity platform, not a demo. It covers 25,000 monthly active users with no card at sign-up, passwordless login, unlimited social connections, one custom domain (card verification required), brand customization, basic attack protection and 5 organizations. It also includes one enterprise connection, self-service SSO and inbound SCIM, all marked new, plus 1,000 machine-to-machine tokens.

The limits show up in operations and security. Free keeps logs for 1 day, allows one tenant and three admins, and support is the community forum. Pro MFA factors, role management, account linking and custom signup and login flows are not on Free; they start on Essentials.

That makes MFA the usual upgrade trigger. An app with 10,000 users that adds a second factor goes from $0 to the Essentials price for 10,000 users, which the next section shows.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 103 identity and access tools as of October 19, 2026, and the median cheapest paid plan is $17.50 a month across the 22 that publish a price. Auth0's cheapest paid entry is double that median before user volume is added. The directory record is Auth0 on Toolradar.

B2C pricing at every user step

For consumer apps, Essentials is a flat $0.07 per monthly active user at every step of the calculator, and Professional falls from $0.24 per user at 1,000 users to $0.16 from 7,500. The flat Essentials rate turns a consumer-app budget into one multiplication, while Professional rewards growth.

Monthly active users Essentials, monthly Essentials, yearly Professional, monthly Professional, yearly
500 $35 $385 $240 $2,640
1,000 $70 $770 $240 $2,640
2,500 $175 $1,925 $545 $5,995
5,000 $350 $3,850 $1,000 $11,000
7,500 $525 $5,775 $1,200 $13,200
10,000 $700 $7,700 $1,600 $17,600
20,000 $1,400 $15,400 $3,200 $35,200
30,000 $2,100 $23,100 Contact sales Contact sales

Professional's first price covers up to 1,000 users, so a 500-user app pays for capacity it does not use. Above 20,000 users, Professional shows "Get in touch" instead of a price.

What Professional adds over Essentials is narrow but important for migrations. It lets users log in against your existing user database, adds Enterprise MFA factors, custom token exchange and enhanced attack protection (breached password detection and enhanced password protection). It also raises tenants from 3 to 12 and log retention from 5 days to 10. If you are not migrating an existing user store, Essentials covers most consumer apps at less than half the Professional price from 5,000 users up.

One B2C footnote catches teams by surprise. The paid B2C cards say "Upgrade to B2B to continue using EC, Self-Service SSO, and SCIM", so the enterprise connection, self-service SSO and SCIM that Free includes are not part of B2C Essentials or Professional.

B2B pricing at every user step

B2B plans cost more per user at low volume and less as you grow. Essentials falls from $0.30 per user at 500 users to $0.19 at 20,000, and Professional from $0.80 at 1,000 users to $0.24 at 10,000.

Monthly active users Essentials, monthly Essentials, yearly Professional, monthly Professional, yearly
500 $150 $1,650 $800 $8,800
1,000 $300 $3,300 $800 $8,800
2,500 $700 $7,700 $1,200 $13,200
5,000 $1,300 $14,300 $1,500 $16,500
7,500 $1,725 $18,975 $1,800 $19,800
10,000 $2,100 $23,100 $2,400 $26,400
20,000 $3,800 $41,800 Contact sales Contact sales

B2B Essentials adds unlimited organizations (subject to system limits), 3 SSO enterprise connections, role-based access control, Pro MFA, audit log streaming and separate dev and prod tenants. Enterprise MFA, extra enterprise SSO connections and machine-to-machine tokens are add-ons. B2B Professional adds the Security Center, enhanced attack protection, custom database logins, custom token exchange and additional enterprise connections.

The gap between the two B2B plans closes fast. At 1,000 users Professional costs $500 a month more than Essentials, at 7,500 users only $75 more, and at 10,000 users $300 more. A B2B app above 5,000 users should price Professional before settling on Essentials. B2B Essentials stops publishing a price above 20,000 users, and Professional above 10,000.

Enterprise and the discounts Auth0 lists

Enterprise has no public price. It adds custom user and SSO tiers, a 99.99% SLA, enterprise rate limits, unlimited tenants, 30 days of log retention, SSO for the Auth0 dashboard and Premier support options. Private deployment, a HIPAA BAA and PCI-compliant environments are add-ons, so a health-data app budgets an Enterprise quote from the start.

Two programs cut the bill. The startup plan includes 100,000 monthly external active users, enterprise identity providers, Pro MFA and dashboard SSO free for a year, with an option to apply for $5,000 in AWS credits. Nonprofits can request a Social Impact discount, which Auth0 says applies to all paid plans but does not price on the page.

Trials are short. The FAQ says the trial lasts 22 days, after which the account drops to Free automatically, so test paid features with a plan to decide inside that window.

How Auth0 compares with Clerk and Supabase

Auth0 is the most expensive of the three once an app needs MFA. All prices below were read on each vendor's page on October 19, 2026, on monthly billing.

At 10,000 users Auth0 Clerk Supabase
Free plan limit 25,000 monthly active users 50,000 monthly retained users per app 50,000 monthly active users
Cheapest paid plan B2C Essentials, $700/mo at 10,000 users Pro, $25/mo ($20 billed annually) with 50,000 retained users included Pro, from $25/mo with 100,000 monthly active users included
Price past the included users Next calculator step $0.02 per retained user $0.00325 per user

The comparison is not exact. Clerk counts retained users, people who come back at least 24 hours after signing up, while Auth0 and Supabase count active users. Supabase Pro is a whole backend plan with a database, not an auth-only product. Even so, an app with 10,000 users that needs paid features pays Auth0 28 times what Clerk Pro costs on monthly billing.

What the premium buys is breadth: enterprise connections, attack protection tiers, private cloud and compliance add-ons that the cheaper tools price differently or leave out. Our Clerk vs Auth0 comparison weighs those features, and the authentication pricing comparison runs four vendors at 10,000, 100,000 and a million users. Plan detail for the alternatives is in Clerk pricing and Supabase pricing.

Which Auth0 plan to buy

  • Under 25,000 users, no MFA requirement: Free.
  • A consumer app that needs MFA or roles: B2C Essentials, at $0.07 per user.
  • A consumer app migrating an existing password database: B2C Professional, for custom database logins.
  • A SaaS app selling to companies: B2B Essentials for organizations and 3 SSO connections.
  • A B2B app above 5,000 users: compare B2B Professional, which costs little more at 7,500 users.
  • HIPAA, private cloud or more than 30,000 users: Enterprise, by quote.
  • An early-stage startup: apply for the startup plan before paying list price.

The Auth0 review covers the product beyond its price, and our best authentication providers ranking puts it beside the alternatives.

Sources and method

We read Auth0's pricing page on October 19, 2026, including its calculator at each user step on monthly and yearly billing for both B2C and B2B, the plan comparison table and the FAQ. Competitor prices come from Clerk's pricing page and Supabase's pricing page, read the same day. Per-user rates divide a printed price by its user step; the 28x figure divides two printed prices. Prices exclude tax and add-ons. Check the vendor pages before you commit, because Auth0 changes its tiers.
