v0 vs Lovable 2026: Per-Seat UI Builder or Flat-Price App Builder

v0 vs Lovable in 2026: v0 Plus is $30 per user a month, Lovable Pro $25 per workspace with unlimited users. What 1, 3 and 5 builders pay, and who should pick which.

v0 vs Lovable 2026: Per-Seat UI Builder or Flat-Price App Builder

Pick v0 if you are a developer shipping Next.js on Vercel; pick Lovable if you want a hosted full-stack app and a bill that does not grow with headcount. v0 Plus costs $30 per user a month with a matching amount of model credits per seat, while Lovable Pro costs $25 a month for the whole workspace, with 100 shared credits and unlimited users. Both prices were read on the vendors' pricing pages on October 19, 2026.

The difference that decides most purchases is the billing unit. v0 charges per person and meters every message in dollars at per-token model rates. Lovable charges per workspace and meters work in credits that everyone draws from. A solo developer pays about the same on either; a team of five pays very different amounts.

Toolradar data: of the 157 app builders tracked on Toolradar, the software directory we run, 68% offer a free plan. v0 ranks #12 (joint) for how often other tools list it as an alternative, against #33 (joint) for Lovable, as of October 2026 (v0 on Toolradar, Lovable on Toolradar). Visitors compare v0 with Figma more than with any other tool, which fits its role as a UI generator rather than an app host.

How v0 bills: seats plus token-priced credits

Every v0 Plus and Business seat comes with included credits equal to the Plus price each month and $2 of free credits each day you log in. Each message spends those credits at the token rates of the model you pick. v0 Mini costs $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output tokens, v0 Pro $2 and $10, v0 Max $5 and $25, and v0 Max Fast $10 and $50. Choosing Mini for small edits and Max only for hard problems stretches the same allowance several times further.

v0's own FAQ flags that short prompts can still use many input tokens, so the prompt you type is not the size of the bill. Budget by watching usage for a week rather than by counting prompts. Unused monthly credits roll over and expire after 65 days. Purchased credits last a year but only stay usable while you keep a paid subscription, and on team plans they go into a shared pool while each person's monthly credits stay their own.

Business costs $100 per user and includes the same credit allowance as Plus. The extra $70 per seat buys a training opt-out by default. SAML SSO and role-based access sit on Enterprise, which is custom-priced.

How Lovable bills: one workspace, shared credits

Lovable prices plans by credits, not people. Pro is $25 a month for 100 credits, Business is $50 a month for 100 credits, and inviting more members does not change the price; it only changes how fast the shared balance drains. Yearly billing gives two months free, so a 100-credit Pro year is $250 by our arithmetic.

Credit use depends on the mode you work in: Plan Mode costs 1 credit per message. In the default build mode, Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits to make a button gray to 1.70 credits for a landing page with three generated images. At those rates, 100 credits cover roughly 60 to 200 build prompts a month.

Pro credits roll over for one month on monthly plans; unused monthly credits expire two months after they are issued, and top-ups last 12 months, with no refunds on any credits. Every paid plan also gets 5 daily build credits and 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting, and Lovable says most small apps run inside that hosting grant. Business adds SSO, role-based access, internal publishing and personal projects, and its credits cost twice as much per unit as Pro's, although hosting and in-app AI cost the same on both.

What one, three and five builders pay a month

These totals use each tool's entry paid plan on monthly billing and are our arithmetic on the printed prices.

Builders v0 Plus v0 Business Lovable Pro or Business
1 $30 $100 One flat fee, 100 shared credits
3 $90 $300 Same flat fee, same 100 credits
5 $150 $500 Same flat fee, same 100 credits

Each v0 seat brings its own credits equal to the Plus price, so v0's credit pool grows with the table above; Lovable's stays at 100 until you buy a bigger tier or top-ups.

For one person, the two are close. v0 costs $5 more and gives you dollar credits you can stretch with cheaper models; Lovable gives you a credit allowance and hosting in the same bill.

For a team, the shapes split. v0's bill and its credit pool grow together, one seat at a time. Lovable's bill stays flat, but five people building daily will burn through 100 shared credits fast, so the real Lovable cost becomes whatever larger credit tier or top-ups the team needs. The Lovable pricing breakdown lists every credit tier if you want to price that step. Lovable at least lets an admin set per-member credit limits, so one heavy user cannot drain the workspace.

What each tool actually builds

v0 is a UI and front-end generator for developers. It generates front-end code for web apps, lets you edit visually in Design Mode, syncs with GitHub and deploys to Vercel. The output is code you are expected to own and extend in your own repo. Hosting is billed separately by Vercel, so a production launch means a second subscription; the Vercel review and Next.js hosting options cover that side of the bill. Our v0 review goes deeper on the product.

Lovable is a prompt-to-app builder for people who want the whole thing. It writes the interface, backend, database and login, then hosts the app on Lovable Cloud with custom domains on Pro. You own the code and the data, and a non-developer can ship something usable without touching a terminal. The trade-off is that the app lives on Lovable's stack unless you move it, and the Lovable review covers where that bites.

Winner by dimension

  • Price for one builder: Lovable, by a small margin, with hosting included.
  • Price for a growing team: Lovable, as long as shared credits keep up; v0 if each person needs a predictable personal allowance.
  • Code quality control: v0, because you pick the model per message and work in your own repository.
  • Full-stack without code: Lovable, with database, auth and hosting in one product.
  • Single sign-on: Lovable, which includes SSO on its $50 Business plan, while v0 keeps SAML SSO for custom-priced Enterprise.
  • Free plan: Lovable for building, v0 for occasional prompts. Lovable's 5 daily credits build more than v0's 7 daily messages for most people, but v0 adds a $5 one-time credit for new users.

Who should pick which

Choose v0 if you already work in a Next.js codebase, deploy on Vercel and want generated UI you will edit by hand. It is also the better pick when each developer should have their own budget and model choice. Choose Lovable if you are a founder, designer or small team that wants a hosted app without assembling a stack, or if headcount will grow faster than usage.

If neither fits, the vibe coding tools list covers the wider field, Replit vs Lovable compares Lovable with a code-first IDE, and the AI app development platforms list ranks builders by what they deploy. On a zero budget, start with the free AI coding tools.

How we compared

Prices, plan features, credit rules and model rates were read on v0's pricing page and pricing docs and on Lovable's pricing page on October 19, 2026, in USD. The team cost table multiplies printed per-user prices by headcount; Lovable's flat price does not change with users. Prompt counts per 100 Lovable credits use Lovable's own example costs. We do not run production apps on either tool, so nothing here is a measured build time or code quality score.

FAQ

Is v0 or Lovable better in 2026?

v0 is better for developers who want front-end code they will own and deploy on Vercel. Lovable is better for founders and teams who want a hosted full-stack app with database and login built in. On price, one builder pays $5 more a month on v0 Plus than on Lovable Pro.

Is v0 cheaper than Lovable?

Not at the entry level. v0 Plus costs a little more than Lovable Pro for one person. Because Lovable charges per workspace, a team of five on entry plans pays $150 a month on v0 against Lovable's single Pro fee. Five active builders will usually need more than Lovable's 100 shared credits, though, so price the next credit tier too.

Does Lovable charge per user?

No. Lovable plans are priced by the credits they include, and every plan allows unlimited users. Adding people changes how fast the workspace uses its shared credits, not the subscription price. Admins can set per-member credit limits.

What do v0 credits buy?

Each v0 Plus or Business seat includes credits equal to the Plus price every month, spent at the token rates of the chosen model. v0 Mini is the cheapest, at $0.20 per million input tokens, and v0 Max Fast the most expensive. Unused monthly credits roll over and expire after 65 days.

Can I use v0 and Lovable for free?

Yes, with limits. v0's free plan allows 7 messages a day and deploys to Vercel. Lovable's free plan includes 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits for hosting. Neither free plan is meant for a team building every day.
